Getting married here too?
Good news on that front: Greece made same-sex civil marriage legal in 2024, so a legally binding wedding on the island is possible - it needs the same paperwork as any civil wedding, which we explain in our plain-English legal guide. And a symbolic ceremony needs no paperwork at all - many couples propose one evening and celebrate their vows a few days later.
A word about privacy
Some couples want the whole island to hear the yes; others want it completely private. Both are easy here.
