An elopement on the beach is the simplest way to get married in Santorini, and honestly? We think it might be the most romantic one too. Just the two of you, the dark volcanic sand of Perissa or Perivolos, the sound of the Aegean, and a small ceremony we set up quietly while you enjoy your day.
Many of our couples decide to elope right after their proposal - some the very same week! We arrange the celebrant, the flowers, the little details and a photographer who knows the beach light, and you simply show up in love.
How a beach elopement in Santorini works
Most beach elopements here are symbolic ceremonies, which means there is no paperwork to stress about - you say your vows on the beach and take care of the legal part back home whenever it suits you. If you would rather have a legally binding wedding in Greece, that is possible too, it just needs some documents prepared in advance. Either way, we walk you through it step by step.
What a beach elopement includes
Every beach elopement starts from our symbolic wedding packages: the Essential ceremony (€850) brings the celebrant, our coordinator for the hour of the ceremony, a bottle of champagne, music for your entrance and a keepsake certificate; the Superior package (€1,600) adds private transport, a photographer for one hour with 60 colour-graded pictures, a videographer and the ceremony decorations; the Premium package (€1,900) adds the bridal bouquet, the groom's boutonniere and a hairdresser at your hotel. Prices do not include VAT. On the beach we add what the setting asks for: a spot on the sand away from the sunbeds, a small arch or a red carpet if you like one, and shoes-off vows.
The beaches we use and when
Perissa and Perivolos have the long black-sand shore and the easiest access; Vlychada has pale sculpted cliffs behind the sand for a more dramatic backdrop. The best light is the hour before sunset, around 8 pm in summer and earlier in spring and autumn, when the beach empties and the sand cools. Bring flat shoes for the walk to the spot and something light for the sea breeze after the sun goes down.
Can we elope on the beach the same day we get engaged?
Yes. Tell us before you travel and we plan both: the proposal in the afternoon, the ceremony at sunset, with the photographer staying for both.
Is a beach elopement legally binding?
A symbolic ceremony is not; you sign the legal papers at home. A civil wedding in Greece needs documents prepared several weeks ahead; our legal requirements guide explains them.
